Vastu Tips for Kitchen

Ideally, the kitchen should be in the Agnisthaan (South-East zone) of the home. The second best position is the Vayu kona (North-West zone).

The gas burner stove should be placed in the Agni kona (South-East zone) of the kitchen and the person should face Poorav disha (East zone) while doing cooking.

The sink, water filter or pitcher (“matka”) should be installed in the Uttar disha (North zone), Eshanya kona (North-East zone) or Poorav disha (East zone) of the kitchen.

The heaters, micro-wave oven, tandoor, toaster should be also be placed on the Agni kona (South-East zone) or Dakshin disha (South zone) of the kitchen.

Place fridge, heavy kitchen cabinets and other gadgets on the Dakshin disha (South zone) and Paschim disha (West zone).

Do not keep broom (“jhadoo”) in a standing position.

In-order to virtually isolate / correct / cut off the area ill effect of Washing Machine, Dish-Washer & Clothes Dryer Machine, Dustbin stick the Colour Tape or fix the Extra Thick Copper Patti Strip (click here) / Extra Thick Brass Patti Strip (click here) / Extra Thick Stainless Steel Patti Strip or Extra Thick Aluminum Patti Strip (click here) (depending on the zone) on the floor level (around the machine area). The Extra Thick Metal Patti / Strip is 20 mm wide x 1.2 mm thick.

The North-East corner of the Kitchen should be kept free of clutter. Never place gas burner, heaters, conventional ovens, micro-waves ovens etc. in the Eshanya Kona (North East zone).

Maintain maximum distance between the gas burner (fire element) and sink / water matka / water purifier (water element). Also ensure that you do not keep water bottles near the gas burner.

Avoid black, grey shade granite kitchen platform / tiles.

Avoid Blue colour laminate / kitchenware in a kitchen especially if the Kitchen is in the South-East / South zone.

Sthaan PavitramNever construct a kitchen in the Eshanya Kona (North-East zone), Uttar disha (North zone), Nairuti Kona (South-West zone) or Brahmasthan (Central zone) of the home.

If the Gas Burner is ‘not’ on the Eastern side or if the Kitchen is ‘not’ at the South-East, South-South-East or North-West zone, then place a Sthaan Pavitram (click here) on a shelf which is below the Gas hob / stove.

If the Gas Hob is in the North / NE / ENE / E zone of the property, then place a Green Marble piece under the Gas Hob Burner zone.

If the Gas Hob is in the South-South-West, South-West, West-South-West, West, West-North-West zone of the property, then place a Yellow Jaisalmer Stone piece + Sthaan Pavitram (click here) under the Gas Hob Burner zone.

Store knives and other sharp objects in a safe and closed space. Avoid leaving them exposed.

Mirrors in the kitchen are considered inauspicious. Avoid placing them as they may duplicate negative energy.
